Are you thinking about getting your house sold? In this article I am going to talk to you a little bit about the art of staging.

So if you want to get your house sold you have probably advertised, possibly found an agent and now you are just waiting for the results to come in. This is all that you can do, right? Wrong! With the huge buyer's market out there today you are going to have to step it up a notch. Maybe you don't even know what staging is but after reading this article you are going to know and be able to master the art of staging.

For those of you that do not know what staging is, basically staging is small home improvements that you do to your house as you are trying to sell it.These do not have to be expensive but they could be the difference between selling your house and having to live there another year while you wait for the sale to come in. Let's go on to look at some things you can do when staging your house.

Number 1 - Kick Out The Clutter

If you are like me you get a lot of magazines. When you get the magazines you plan on reading them and then they go on your table, floor or the kids just run off with them and they are really all over the place. When you are living in your house and if you want to be happy with that kind of mess that's fine. When you are thinking about getting your house sold this is not the best idea in the world. Clutter is something that is going to make your house look very unappealing and getting rid of it is going to give you a much bigger chance of selling.

Number 2- Paint

You have probably got some different colors paints that fit your style and I am sure it looks great but the people that are going to buy the house may not think it's that great. It is important that you paint your walls something that is not going to be too flashy so that it can go with whatever they have. Maybe go with a pale color or even white. Be safe in this area.

Number 3 - Check For Too Much Stuff

Are you one of those people that have 100 pictures on the wall, 5 rugs in one room and various other knick knacks laying around? If this is you then you are not doing yourself a favor. You need to take down the things that you don't need to be up and allow them to have room for their own vision.
